Melissa and I went to the Warwick Drive-In last night and saw a double-feature. We saw "Dickie Roberts" starring David Spade and "The Fighting Temptations" starring Cuba Gooding Jr. Both of the movies were just ok - they had moments of entertainment but overall were fairly stupid.
We are now 5 days from our wedding and boy, is it getting exciting. It seems like a thousand little things are now becoming very important - and the prospect of having so many friends and family in one place is overwhelming.

Just returned from the gym.
The workout went fairly well. I spent 15 minutes on the StairMaster at level 5 without too great an exertion. I did 3 sets on the Incline Bench. The first set was 135lbs for 10 reps, followed by a second set of 6 reps followed by a final set of 2 reps. Not bad considering my last appearance was on 8/25/2003.
Melissa is busy cleaning the apartment. She wants to return from the honeymoon and walk into a clean apartment.

It's Saturday morning and I've been through virtually all the mail and all the bills are paid. Things are much tighter than I wish they were, but I guess it could be worse.
Oscar is laying on the desk just to the left of the printer, but facing me. His cute little head is on top of his left paw and he is asleep. Poor thing - he was asleep all night. He is the picture of serenity.
Melissa is off to Curves getting some exercise. I need to do the same.
I couldn't reschedule lunch with Linda but she does have a gift I need to collect.
Yesterday Melissa and I went to a nail salon in Ledgewood and both of us had pedicures followed by manicures. Boy, my feet never looked better! The manicure involved less duress and my pinkies look pretty good - as it I were a gay boy! :-)
We talked to Linda last night to see how she fared in Hurricane Isabel. There was no power in Virginia Beach so her and Jeffrey drove up to the Chincoteague area (about 2 hours north of VA Beach) and secured a hotel room. Unfortunately, the hotel they chose was experiencing persistent power outages, so they were in the process of packing up and heading another hour or more north to Pokomoke City in Maryland. She seemed to be enjoying the experience since she was laughing like a hyena during most of the conversation.
Actually it was not much of a conversation. Melissa and I had her on the speakerphone and Linda spent most of the time talking either to Jeffrey or other guests or providing commentary on whatever seemed to be happening to her at that point in time. Everytime the power either went out or on, peels of nervous laughter would eminate from the speakerphone.
Still, it appears Linda will be in CT this coming Thursday and will be at the wedding on Friday. Apparently she is staying at mom's house - Jeffrey will not be joining her.

It's Friday morning and the dinner last night is wreaking some odd revenge on my digestive track so I have called in sick to work. Melissa is snoring lightly in the background with Oscar, our beloved cat, lightly afixed to her head like a hat.
We had dinner at South City Grill in Mountain Lakes with Julie Kirch and Cheryl Boffard. The food was fabulous and we all had a good time - although my gastrointestinal upset began right about the close of dinner.
So, here I am - dressed but unwilling - skipping work to recover with good grace.
I had to cancel lunch with Linda Cousins since I won't be at work. Hopefully we can reschedule for Monday.
